  8. Description             :   You are heading down the secret hallway leading to 
  9.                           the teleporter back to Earth.  As you make your way
  10.                           to well-earned freedom, you wonder why it seemed so
  11.                           easy to waste the mighty Spiderdemon?
  12.                             Just then, a ghostly apparition appears in the
  13.                           corridor ahead.  It is one of your fallen comrades!
  14.                           He speaks to you in a ghostly whisper, but you sense
  15.                           a joy in his haunting voice.  He thanks you for 
  16.                           rescuing his soul from that monstrous devil.  He 
  17.                           begins to tell you of his last mission...
  18.                             It seems that of the few space marines who made it
  19.                           to the inferno of Hell, only he had a soul too pure
  20.                           to be corrupted by the teleporter gates.  He fought 
  21.                           valiantly, but was soon captured-not killed!  The 
  22.                           hideous Spiderdemon saw a power in that soul he 
  23.                           could use for his own.  In an unholy ceremony, the 
  24.                           Spiderdemon split the marine into two parts--a body 
  25.                           and a soul!
  26.                             With the soul in his control, the Spiderdemon 
  27.                           would gain even greater power and would be 
  28.                           indestructable to any mortal!
  29.                             But, there was one more part to complete the 
  30.                           ceremony.  The only way for the Spiderdemon to 
  31.                           truly possess the soul was to prove that the body 
  32.                           was not worthy of it.  A test for the human would 
  33.                           be the last step of the arcane ritual. 
  34.                             The Spiderdemon sent him back to Phobos to a
  35.                           special arena built just for the occasion.  If he
  36.                           could fight his way to retrieve his soul, he would
  37.                           be worthy of it.  If he failed, the Spiderdemon
  38.                           would become invincible and he would suffer an 
  39.                           eternity of torment.  If he succeeded, he would be
  40.                           returned to Earth.  
  41.                             In the end, he was victorious, but the Spiderdemon
  42.                           broke the rules of the ritual and laid a final trap
  43.                           for him.  He was killed and his body taken back to
  44.                           Hell as a trophy.  
  45.                             His soul was also brought back and it watched as 
  46.                           the Spiderdemon's ritual backfired on him. The  
  47.                           monster received a great blast of energy in punishment
  48.                           for his blasphemous actions!
  49.                             The demon was weakened, but very much alive.  He
  50.                           unleashed his fury on the only thing he could, the
  51.                           soul of the poor marine!  Even though he could never
  52.                           use its power, he was determined to torture the man 
  53.                           who cheated him out of immortality.  It wasn't until
  54.                           you destroyed the weakened Spiderdemon that he was
  55.                           set free.
  56.                             The spirit turns and begins to float away, but you
  57.                           call out for him to wait.  You ask him to tell you 
  58.                           more of this final mission.  As you look into the 
  59.                           misty face, you see a comrade who used to swap tales
  60.                           of adventure with you often.  You ask him for 1 last
  61.                           war story.  He smiles and begins to tell, in detail,
  62.                           of his most heroic mission.  This is that tale.....

  89. Known Bugs              : As with most levels, walls with bars are a little  
  90.                           sticky, If you get stuck, just back up.  The music  
  91.                           is a little low also, so crank down your sound  
  92.                           effects if you are interested in hearing the music.
  93.                           There are 1 or 2 cases of HOM, but they were un-
  94.                           avoidable and don't really show up much.
